About Us
Our Story
We are Marc and Michelle Weissenberger. We began making our candles in the spring of 2021 as a hobby/side business. In May 2022, we put the candle making on hold for a few months while we moved from Indiana to Florence, Colorado. Moving back to Colorado was one of Marc's dreams, he had lived there as a child/teen. In Colorado, we decided to start making candles again and within a short time we opened a store front. In our store, Essential Blue Candles & Home Decor, we sell our candles and beautiful home decor. A portion of our store is also dedicated to our favorite sport, pickleball, Warrior Pickleball. Warrior Pickleball carries pickleball equipment, clothing and novelty items.
We came up with the name Essential Blue because Michelle is retired law enforcement and during COVID she was an "essential" employee and the blue is for law enforcement. Warrior Pickleball was chosen because when we decided to start the pickleball portion of the store a law enforcement co-worker of Michelle's was shot in the line of duty and was fighting like a warrior for her life. Officer Seara Burton of the Richmond, Indiana Police Department succumbed to her injuries on September 18, 2022.
